Replicate and monitor your Linux Servers
Replication to one or more servers takes place over a LAN or WAN
continuously In addition, LifeKeeper is configured to monitor the state
of all applications and services. This
means that you dont need to worry if your applications and users are
not functioning. LifeKeeper will automatically detect this and failover
to the backup server.
Failover, Email notification and return to service
When an error occurs, you will receive an email or text informing you which server or service has been afected. After the server has been restored back into service.
Return to service Data is automatically resynchronised from the backup to the primary
server. When this is finshed, the main server can be brought back
online. Return to service is automatic or manual, depending on
previously set preferences.

1. LAN failover without shared storage (High Availability)
Data mirroring eliminates the requirement for a shared storage by mirroring application data across a LAN so that when a failover occurs, the application data is current and accessible. Replication can be done synchronous or asynchronously.
2. LAN failover with shared storage (High Availability)
Failover over a shared SCSI or Fibre environments assumes data availability is maintained by the storage architecture.
3. WAN failover (Disaster Recovery)
By combining the data mirroring capabilities of LifeKeeper with application recovery, a disaster recovery scenario that can recover a failed server to a remote site is achieved. There is no difference between the LAN and WAN solutions except the location of the servers and the underlying infrastructure.
4. 3-node combination of LAN and WAN recovery
This option replicates data to both a local and remote backup. The applications and hardware are monitored, and failover can be either local or remote. The local backup is invoked for ‘everyday’ failures or operational downtime, whereas the remote backup is invoked for site disasters.
